A. Isolate the problem (back)
1. Close all applications other than your browser (e.g.
Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator). Any other application
using your computer's sound card can affect whether you are
able to hear the radio broadcast.
B. Speakers on and turned up? (back)
1. Make sure your headphones or speakers are correctly plugged
in and turned on.
2. Check to make sure your local audio volume is turned
up. You can check this one of two ways;
- play a CD from your computer, and see if you can hear
it, or
- try to play an MP3 file, if you have one already on your
computer.
C. MP3 Player Problems? (back)
1. Make sure you have an MP3 player installed. For more
on installing an MP3 player, read The
Listen Help Page.
2. Upgrade to Player365, Live365's recommended player. Simply
go to
and select it. (PC only)
3. Update to RealPlayer
8. Version 8 corrects bugs found in previous versions
of the RealPlayer.
D. Is it the broadcast itself? (back)
1. Some broadcasts may have corrupt files. Try playing a
different broadcast.
2. Make sure that you have selected a broadcast that is
equal to or slower than your own connection to the Internet.
(For example, if you are connected via a 33K modem, you won't
be able to hear any streams running at 56K or T1/DSL)
E. Browser supports JavaScript? (back)
1. Update to the most current version of your browser (e.g. Microsoft
Internet Explorer, Netscape
Navigator), if you have not already done so.
2. Make sure JavaScript is turned on.
